Raaka Virgin Chocolate is a craft chocolate maker located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York. Each month their 1st Nibs Subscription features seasonal and creative micro-batch chocolate bars.
The May 2018 selection involved brunch themed bars including French Toast and Turmeric Latte bars.

French Toast Bar:
The French Toast Bar was made from Zorzal Cacao, Dominican Republic, 65% with maple syrup, puffed quinoa and chia seeds dusted with cinnamon brown sugar.
Color: Medium brown in color with cinnamon brown sugar visibly sprinkled on the back of the bar.
Raaka FrenchToast Bar
Nose: Cinnamon, cocoa, toast, fudge and a touch of salt.
Texture: Crunchy texture which then changes to a lightness in mouth feel.
Taste: Buttery, maple, cocoa, dark fruit and grape.
Finish: Short finish with chia seeds taste at the end.
The Turmeric Latte bar was made from CAC Pangoa, Peru, 60% with the cacao from the Junin valley in Peru ground with shredded coconut, sweetened with coconut sugar and includes turmeric, ginger, nutmeg and black pepper.
Color: Medium brown.
Nose: Turmeric, coconut, cream and golden berry.
Texture: Light snap, soft and creamy mouth feel.
Raaka Turmeric Latte Bar
Taste: Turmeric, coconut, ginger, golden berry and bee pollen.
Finish: Medium length finish with black pepper and gingerbread notes.
